Alberto Ramos Gomez

Alberto "Al" Gomez, age 77, of #18 Fairhaven Drive, Rome, (Coosa Community) died Tuesday morning, June 30th, 2009 at the residence.
A native of Los Angelus, California, Mr. Gomez was born on February 19th, 1932 the son of the late Ignacio and Jennie Ramos Gomez. He had been a resident of Rome since 1997 having moved here from Oregon and attended Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. Mr. Gomez was a veteran of the United States Marine having served in the Korean Conflict and was associated with Harrington Realty and Associates as a real estate agent. He was a member of Shanklin-Attaway Post #5 American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Gomez to whom he was married in 1960, 1 daughter, Nina Rossman of Venice, Florida; 1 grandson, Ryan Rossman, 3 step-daughters, 2 sisters, Lola Dias and Lucille Brawn both of California; a sister-in-law, Maxine Richards of Cartersville.
A memorial service for Alberto "Al" Gomez will be held on Sunday afternoon, July 5th, 2009 at 2 o'clock at the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church with the Rev. Michael Holt officiating.
The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon at the church following the memorial service.
