He was a graduate of Grand Falls Academy in Grand Falls, Newfoundland. He has been a resident of Rome for the past 21 years, moving here from Cartersville, Georgia. He was a member and deacon of the New Armuchee Baptist Church, where he was a member of the choir for many years. He never let his stroke slow him down and stayed very active right up until his death. He had a deep life-long love of animals and his house is full of rescued critters that needed a second chance. Mr. Lane was preceded in death by his mother, father and a daughter, Jennifer Lane Jones.
