Alta Corene Raudonis

Alta Denson Raudonis, age 94, of Rome passed away early Sunday morning, June 12th, 2011 at Golden Living Center of Rome.

A native of Cherokee County, Alabama, Mrs. Raudonis was born on December 21st, 1916, the daughter of the late Rev. W. O. Denson and the late Idell Hawkins Denson. She moved to Rome in 1924 and attended Celanese School and worked at Tubize for a number of years. Mrs. Raudonis was a long time member of the Shorter Avenue Baptist Church of Rome and had been a resident of Atlanta for several years prior to returning to Rome in 2001. For a period of time she was associated with Economy Drug Company of Atlanta. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Charles, her parents, a brother, J.C. Denson and a sister, Mary Sue Thomas. Mrs. Raudonis was married on February 26th, 1956 to John Anthony Raudonis who preceded her in death in 1978.

Survivors include 3 stepsons and their wives, Lee and Mary Raudonis of Big Canoe, GA., Charles and Ann Raudonis of Ellenwood, GA. and Danny and Pat Raudonis of Cumming, GA.; 4 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild also survive as do a sister, Flora Allen of Rome and a brother, Curtis Denson of Lawrenceville, GA. Nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Alta Denson Raudonis will be held on Thursday morning, June 16th, 2011 at 11 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with Chaplain Mike Cordle officiating. Interment will follow in Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs, GA.

The family will receive friends for Mrs. Raudonis on Thursday morning at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel from 9:30 until 11 o'clock.
