Betty Virginia Motes

Betty Thornton Motes, age 85, of Rome, passed away on August 5, 2015. She was a member of West Rome United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star. Mrs. Motes was Playground Director at Elm Street School for a number of years and worked in Housekeeping at Redmond Park Hospital. Betty was a Gray Lady Volunteer at Floyd Medical Center.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Charles H. Motes and her siblings; and granddaughter-in-law Amy Brigham.

Mrs. Motes is survived by her two daughters, Diann (Randy) Steward, Debby Motes Grizzard; grandson; Gene Brigham; one sister, Blanche Thorton Orr.

The pallbearers will be Bradley Bohannon, Alex Bohannon and Ronnie Motes.

The visitation will be on Saturday, August 8, 2015 from Noon until 1:00 pm at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with burial to be at Oaknoll Memorial Garden.

Donations may be made to the Humane Society.
