Billy Eugene Bray, age 66, of #2686 Old Summerville Road, Armuchee, died Sunday evening, December 27th, 2009 at a local hospital.
A native of Floyd County, Mr. Bray was born on February 13th, 1943, the son of the late Howard P. and Pearl Neal Bray. He had spent his entire life in Floyd County and was of the Baptist Faith. Prior to retirement Mr. Bray was associated with Northwest Georgia Regional Hospital as a painting supervisor. Mr. Bray was preceded in death by a brother, Stevie Ray Bray.
Survivors include 3 sons and daughters-in-law, David and Angela Bray of Coosa, Michael and Lynn Bray of Silver Creek and Danny and Haley Bray of Aragon, GA.; 7 grandchildren, Jessica Bray, David Bray, Jr., Leslie Bray, Shane Hann, Amanda Bray, Amber White and Ashley Bray, 1 great-granddaughter, Lexy Hann, 1 sister, Frances Lowery of Armuchee; 6 brothers, James Bray of Armuchee, Harold Bray of Rome, Lamar Bray of Armuchee, Edwin Bray of Armuchee, Winford Bray of China Grove, N.C. and Michael Bray of Armuchee. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Billy Eugene Bray will be held this (Wednesday) afternoon, December 30th, 2009 at 2 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with the Rev. James Lowery and the Rev. Jackie Culberson, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot of Floyd Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
The following will serve as active pallbearers, Kevin Bray, Cody Winters, Craig Bray, James Weese, Larry Boatner and Terry Lynn Trapp.
Mr. Bray will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family received friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 o'clock. At other hours the family will be at their respective homes.
