Billy Joe Graham

Joe Graham, age 68 of 2582 River Road, Dalton, Ga. and a former long time resident of Rome, died Monday afternoon, August 6th, 2007 at Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton.
A native of Floyd County, Mr. Graham was born on July 4th, 1939, the son of the late William H. and Eva Branton Graham. He had spent the greater part of his life in Floyd County prior to moving to Dalton in 2000 and was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Graham was a 1957 graduate of Model High School and was a Mason. Mr. Graham was owner and operator of G& S Auto Sales of Rome and prior to his retirement was associated with Atlanta Gas Light of Rome for several years. Joe's love was family, his wife, children and grandchildren. Joe loved trout fishing, loved all sports, NASCAR and bird hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Iris Mathis Graham to whom he was married on November 18th, 2000, 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Tammie Bice and her husband, Jimmy of Rome and Tara Bennett of Rome; 3 grandsons, Joshua Green and his wife, Jessica, Jason Green and Aaron Bennett all of Rome; 1 great-granddaughter, Shelby Green of Rome; 1 brother and sister-in-law, John L. Graham and his wife, Shirley of Rome; 1 sister and brother-in-law, Kay and Tom Mathis of Rome; 1 step-son, Mathis McGill of Chatsworth; 1 step-daughter, Erika Condon of Cartersville. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Joe Graham will be held on Thursday morning, August 9th, 2007 at 11 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Branton officiating. Private interment will follow in East View Cemetery for all family members.
The following will serve as active pallbearers, David Price, Larry Meeks, David Willis, Brady Creel, Jerry Blankenship and John Vincenizi.
Mr. Graham will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends this (Wednesday) evening from 6 until 8 o'clock. At other hours they will be the home of his brother and sister-in-law, John L. and Shirley Graham, #206 Dillinger Road, NE, Rome.
