Carl Lewis Reed, Sr

Carl Reed, Sr. age 75, of the Martha Berry Highway, Rome, died Tuesday evening January 8th, 2008, at his residence.
A native of Bartow County, Mr. Reed was born on August 7th, 1932, the son of the late Robert and Ola Elrod Reed. He had spent the greater part of his life in Rome and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cartersville. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Reed was well known in automobile sales in Rome having been associated with Julian Harrison Ford of Rome for more than 25 years. Mr. Reed was a Mason and a Shriner and was a member of Callier Springs Country Club. Mr. Reed was preceded in death by a son, Jeff Reed on July 11th, 2005.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy L. "Dot" Perkins Reed to whom he was married on August 7th, 1950, 3 daughters, Judy de la Torre of Waleska, GA., Pat Firestone of Shannon, GA. and Debbie Blauser of Kennesaw, GA.; 1 son, Pete Reed of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandsons also survive as do a sister, Thelma Greene of Cartersville, Ga. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Memorial services for Carl Reed, Sr. will be held on Sunday afternoon, January 13th, 2008 at 2 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with the Rev. Elgin Williams officiating.
The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 1 until 2 o'clock at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel.
