Carol Sue Hood Camp, age 70, of #4 Oxford Place, Rome, passed away Tuesday evening, May 20th, 2008 at Redmond Regional after a long battle with lung cancer.
Carol was born on October 19th, 1937 to Lillian Daugherty Hood and Charlie Hood who both preceded her in death. Carol was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Paul Edward Camp Jr., on April 22nd, 2008
Carol was a life long resident of Floyd County and graduated from Rome High in 1955. After raising her two daughters, she went to work for the Floyd County Tax Dept. where she worked for 17 years and then was appointed Tax Commissioner for 2 years prior to her retirement. Carol loved to travel, go fishing and most of all spending time with her family.
Carol is survived by her daughters, Nancy Selman of Rome, and Terri Wynn and son-in-law, Dr. Charles Wynn of Rome. A sister, Charlotte Crane of Rome, a brother-in-law, Tommy Camp of Rome. Three very special young men, her grandsons, Jay Selman, Taylor Wynn and Hunter Selman who were dearly loved and spoiled by their Nana.
Private funeral and interment services for Carol Sue Hood Camp will be held on Saturday, May 24th 2008 with the Reverend Bobby Stephens officiating.
Mrs. Camp will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends this (Friday) evening form 6 until 8 o'clock. At other hours they will be at the residence.
