Carrie Jane Ball

July 26, 1932 — September 30, 2008

Carrie Jane Ball, age 76, of #12 Lombardy Way, Rome, (Rosemont Park) died Tuesday evening, September 30th, 2008 at a local hospital.
A native of Floyd County, Mrs. Ball was born on July 26th, 1932 the daughter of the late Thollie W. and Jesse Cora Mathis Freeman. She had spent her entire life in Floyd County and was of the Baptist Faith. Prior to her retiring Mrs. Ball was associated with the Floyd County School System as a secretary at Midway Elementary School. Mrs. Ball was preceded in death by a brother, Dave Freeman.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Martin Ball to whom she was married on February 11th, 1949, 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Martin Ball of Rome and Kenneth and Beverly Ball of Woodstock, GA.; 5 grandchildren, Brandy Blake, Michael, Jason, Adam and Hunter Ball, 2 great-grandchildren, Abbey and Zoe Lane. A sister, Mary Childers of Rome also survive.
Funeral services for Carrie Jane Ball will be held this (Thursday) afternoon, October 2nd, 2008 at 4 o'clock from the graveside of Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jody Brock officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
For those attending funeral services for Mrs. Ball please meet at the graveside this afternoon by 3:45 p.m.
There will be no receiving of friends at the funeral home for Mrs. Ball.
