Charles Harden Moore

Charles Harden Moore, age 88 of #223 Fred Kelly Road, NE, Rome, passed away on Monday morning at the residence.

Mr. Moore was born on August 20th, 1922 in Polk County, the son of the late Rena Horace Moore and Cordie Gossett Moore. Mr. Moore was a veteran of World War II Having served in the United States Navy, was a member and past deacon of the Sherwood Forest Baptist Church and prior to his retirement Mr. Moore was associated with General Electric for 40 years.

Survivors include his wife, JoNell Brock Moore to whom he was married on September 21st, 1946; a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Ken Thomas of Charlotte, N.C.; 1 son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Tammy Moore of Rome. 4 grandchildren, Kena Campbell, Carla Burleson, Kyle Thomas and Jessica Moore, 8 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Charlotte Blair of Cedartown, GA. and Faye Herrin of Atlanta, Ga.; and 1 brother, Mack Moore of Cedartown, GA. also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Moore will be held on Wednesday morning, November 3rd, 2010 at 11 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with Dr. Talmadge Barnes and Dr. Ralph Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with Shanklin-Attaway Post #5 American Legion Honor Guard conducting military graveside rites.

The following will serve as active pallbearers, Phil and David Brock, Jonathan Burleson, Gary Campbell, Brittan Campbell and Sherald Salmon.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday morning from 10 until 11 o'clock at the funeral home. At other hours they will be at the residence.
