Claude Swanson Lineberry

March 22, 1912 — August 24, 2008

Claude S. Lineberry, age 96, of Turlock, California and a former long time resident of East Valley Road, Rome, died Sunday evening, August 24th, 2008 at Memorial Hospital in Modesto, California.
A native of Hillsville, Virginia, Mr. Lineberry was born on March 22nd, 1912 the son of the late Charles O. and Laura Mabe Lineberry. He had been a resident of Rome since 1973 moving here from Windsor, Conn. and was a member of the Second Avenue United Methodist Church of Rome. Mr. Lineberry was a retired electrical engineer and for many years was associated with The Hartford Steam Boiler I & I Company in Hartford, Conn. He was preceded in death by a son, Claude S. Lineberry, Jr., in December 2003. Mr. Lineberrry was married on April 11th, 1937 to Ruby Nell Garrard Lineberry who preceded him in death on December 18th, 2004. Mr. Lineberry had resided in Turlock, California with his daughter and son-in-law, Georgia and Gary Morriston since May 16th, 2008.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Georgia and Gary Morriston of Turlock, Calif.; 5 grandchildren, Joshua and Daniel Morriston, Nichole Geczy, Thomas and Michael Lineberry, 5 great-grandchildren, Iinnegan Michel and Kylie Denae Morriston, Alexander Charles Geczy, Nora Kerry Morriston and Claudia Ruby Geczy, a daughter-in-law, Mari Lineberry of Alameda, Calif. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Claude S. Lineberry will be held on Saturday morning, August 30th, 2008 at 11 o'clock from the graveside of the New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery on the Booger Hollow Road with the Rev. Paul Gamber officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot of the New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Lineberry will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends this (Friday) evening from 6 until 9 o'clock.
