Dawn B Denson

August 20, 1935 — April 9, 2016

Mrs. Dawn Billingsley Denson, a long-time resident of the Sherwood Forest community passed away Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Denson was born in Rome, GA, on August 20, 1935, daughter of the late Robert Early Billingsley and Rose Gaston Billingsley. She was also preceded in death her husband of 52 years, J.C. Denson, Sr. and her son James Rusty" Denson. Siblings who preceded her in death were Jenny Morgan, Bud Billingsley, and Jim Billingsley. A brother, David Billingsley of Rome survives. She is also survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Van and Melanie Wright, who served as her caregivers for the past 7 years. A daughter-in-law, Mary Denson of Lawrenceville, GA and two granddaughters, Hailey and Keelie Denson, both of Athens, GA also survive.

Mrs. Denson was a 1953 graduate of Rome High and attended the Carol Long Business School. She worked in the office of the Cleanse Corporation and as a substitute teacher and paraprofessional at Johnson Elementary, but was mainly a homemaker.

Mrs. Denson was a member of the Fr4iendship Baptist Church where she was a member of the Ladies Sunday School Class and the Senior Sants' Group.

Funeral services for Mrs. Denson will be held Sunday, April 10, 2016 at 4:00 pm at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel with Rev. Ken Hinkley officiating and her daughter, Melanie Wright giving the eulogy. The family will receive friends at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm preceding the funeral service. The interment will be at East View Cemetery on Monday, April 11, 2016 at 1:00 pm.

Pallbearers will be the nephews.
