Diane Hobgood Trammell

October 25, 1942 — April 13, 2010

Diane Hobgood Trammell, age 67, of Rome, died Tuesday night, April 13th, 2010 at a Rome hospital.

A native of Gordon County, Georgia, Mrs. Trammell was born on October 25th, 1942, the daughter of the late Trammell Winston Hobgood and the late Helen Beamer Hobgood. She had spent the greater part of her life in Floyd County and was a 1960 graduate of Calhoun High School. Mrs. Trammell attended Floyd College and was a member of the North Rome United Methodist Church. Mrs. Trammell was a member and past Worthy Matron of the Etowah Chapter #30 Order of Eastern Star and was a past president of A.A.M.A. For several years Mrs. Trammell was associated with Drs. Bell, Bowen and Lowery as a C.M.A. Mrs. Trammell was married on October 4th, 1958 to George Clinton "Pat" Trammell, III who preceded her in death in 1995.

Survivors include 4 sons and 3 daughters-in-law, Clint Trammell, IV (Nina) of Rome, Boyd Trammell (Heather) of Watkinsville, GA., Kurt Trammell (Lisa) of Silver Creek, GA. and Phil Trammell of Rome; 10 grandchildren, George, Elizabeth, Mary Helen, Makenzie, Kendall, Cameron, James, Kevin, Michael and Olivia Trammell, a great-grandson also survives. A brother, Winston Hobgood of Vero Beach, FL. also survive as do a special aunt Betty Beamer of Calhoun.

Funeral services for Diane Hobgood Trammell will be held on Saturday morning, April 17th, 2010 at 11 o'clock at the North Rome United Methodist Church with the Rev. Norv Havens and the Rev. Bill Adams officiating. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery. Mrs. Trammell will lie-in-state at the church on Saturday morning from 10 until 11 o'clock. Etowah Chapter #30 O.E.S. will provide an Eastern Star funeral service at the church on Saturday morning at 10:45 a.m.

Mrs. Trammell will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends this (Friday) evening from 6 until 9 o'clock. At other hours they will be at the home of a son and daughter-in-law, Clint and Nina Trammell at #6 Page Drive, Rome.

Her grandsons along with Charles Griffin, Jr. Dayton Shaw and Keiffer Lindsey will serve as active pallbearers.
