Edna Joy Ashbrook

Mrs. Edna Joy Ashbrook, age 66, of Rome, GA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family.

Edna was born on September 1, 1956, in Brooklyn, New York. She was the daughter of the late Donald and Edna Marilyn Klages D’Angelo.

Edna was hardworking and strived to take care of her family first and foremost. She loved her family dearly. When she wasn’t spending time with her family, she enjoyed travelling. Edna was known by all as caring and outgoing. She will certainly be missed by all as a wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend.

Survivors include her loving husband of 30 years; David Ashbrook of Rome, GA; daughter, April Battaglia of Old Bridge, NJ; sons, Michael Battaglia and his wife Crystal of Rome, GA, James D’Angelo of Dalton, GA; sisters, Debra (Alfred) Burio of Long Island, NY, Marilyn (Doug) Shoemaker of Long Island, NY; brother, George (Michelle) Zillini of Brooklyn, NY; brother-in-law, Steve Chaput of CA; nine grandchildren: Joshua, Jasmine, Christopher, Jason, Matthew, Brianna, Anthony, Bailey, Nicole and one great grandchild on the way. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Edna was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Donna Chaput.

A Celebration of Life is currently being planned. As soon as those details are finalized they will be announced here by Salmon Funeral Home.
