Edna Kathryn Freeman

Mrs. Kathryn "Memama" Brown Freeman, age 88, of #3126 Cedartown Highway, The Renaissance Marquis, Rome, Georgia passed away on Saturday morning, November 16, 2013 in Cartersville, GA.

A native of Dames Ferry, Georgia, Mrs. Freeman was born on March 11, 1925, the daughter of the late Lewis H. and Mamie Ethel McCord Brown. She was a 1941 graduate of Mary Pearsons High School in Forsyth, GA. Kathryn and her husband, Sam lived in Atlanta for over 56 years, where she retired in 1992 from B & W Mechanical Engineers as a payroll clerk. Kathryn and her husband, Sam has resided in Rome, GA. for the past 13 years, moving here from East Point, GA. Mrs. Freeman was a member of the Mt. Alto Baptist Church of Rome. Mrs. Freeman was preceded in death by her parents, by her brothers, Wilson, Jack H. and Marvin L. Brown.

Survivors include her husband, Sam O. Freeman, to whom she was married on April 22, 1944 and would have celebrated 70 years of married life together on April 22.; a daughter, Jerri F. Landrum and her husband, Doug of Cedartown; 2 sons, Michael L. Freeman and his wife, Debbi of Marietta, GA. and William J. Freeman of Hapeville, GA.; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer Hayes, Jamie Tilley, Lauren Howard, Chris Tilley, Katie Derrick, Melissa Sewell, Tim Freeman, Jason Freeman, Chad Landrum and Doug Landrum. 15 great-grandchildren also survive as do a brother, Reverend Lee Brown and his wife, Regina of Armuchee, GA. Nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Freeman will be held this (Monday) afternoon, November 18, 2013 at 2 o'clock in the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with Dr. Frank Wood and Mrs. Freeman's brother, the Reverend Lee Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot of Floyd Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Freeman will main at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon, November 17, 2013 from 3 until 5 o'clock.

Mrs. Freeman's grandsons will serve as active pallbearers.
