Elizabeth Jean Barrett

October 30, 1925 — January 8, 2010

Elizabeth Jean Barrett, age 84, of Garden Lakes, Rome died early Friday morning, January 8th, 2010 at her residence.
A native of Bartow County, GA. Miss Barrett was born on October 30th, 1925, the daughter of the late Claude R. and Violet Barrett. She had spent the greater part of her life in Floyd County and was a charter member of Garden Lakes Baptist Church, where she served as church clerk for many years and was a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class. Ms. Barrett was a member of the R.A.Y. Club, a member of the "Laureate Gama Chapter o Beta Sigma Phi" and a volunteer for Floyd Medical Center Auxiliary. For a period of time Ms. Barrett was associated with the Boy Scouts of America and prior to her retirement was associated with Georgia Kraft Company in the Woodland Division. After retiring Ms. Barrett enjoyed traveling with members of the Garden Lakes Baptist Church.
Survivors include Elaine and Jerry Dempsey of Rome and Bill and Sandra Davey of Cartersville, GA.
Funeral services for Elizabeth Jean Barrett will be held on Monday afternoon, January 11th, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. at the graveside of East View Cemetery with Dr. Wm. Richard Kremer officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot of East View Cemetery.
Ms. Barrett will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends on Monday afternoon from 1 until 2 o'clock.
