Erma Eunice Burrows, age 95, of #809 South Broad Street, a former resident of Echles Drive, Rome died on Thursday morning, January 14th, 2010 at Etowah Landing of Rome.
A native of Gadsden, Alabama, Mrs. Burrows was born on December 17th, 1914, the daughter of the late John and Minnie Mae Dickerson Vice. She had spent the greater part of her life in Rome and was a member of the North Broad Baptist Church. For a period of time Mrs. Burrows was associated with Celanese, Belk's, Ford-Gitting and Kane Jewelry and Fine Jewelry. Mrs. Burrows was preceded in death by a grandson, Ronnie Scott Burrows in August 1989. She was married on December 16th, 1933 to Henry Mart Burrows who preceded her in death on June 5th, 1993.
Survivors include a son, Jerry R. Burrows of Rome; 3 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Burrows will be held this (Saturday) afternoon, January 16th, 2010, at 2 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with the Rev. Horace Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Burrows will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends this (Saturday) afternoon from 1 until 2 o'clock.
