Ethel Elizabeth Grigsby

Betty Mitchell Grigsby, age 55, of #543 Floyd Springs Road, Armuchee, passed away on Sunday morning, November 28th, 2010 at a Rome hospital.

A native of Savannah, Georgia, Betty was born on June 16th, 1955, the daughter of the late Willie Newton Mitchell who passed away on September 24th, 1990 and the late Sara Ruth Dunaway Mitchell who passed away on September 23rd, 2010. Betty had spent the greater part of her life in Floyd County and was a 1973 graduate of Armuchee High School. Betty was a member of the Sunny Side Baptist Church and was a Certified Nurses Assistant and a caregiver. Betty was preceded in death by an infant son.

Survivors include her husband, Glenn Grigsby to whom she was married on December 28th, 1990; a sister and brother-in-law, Sara Ann and Larry Lynch of Rome; a brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Linda Mitchell of Rome. Several special nieces and nephews, several special great-nieces and nephews also survive as do her Mother-in-law, Marcelle Grigsby of Armuchee, a sister-in-law and her husband, Carol and Lynn Woodall of Rome.

Private graveside and interment services for Betty Mitchell Grigsby will be held on Wednesday afternoon, December 1st, 2010 at 2 o'clock in the family lot of the New Armuchee Cemetery with the Rev. Max Carver officiating.

There will be a private visitation for the family at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel.
