Frances Avaleen Dew

Mrs. Avaleen Hawkins Dew, age 77, of Roman Court, Chulio Road, Rome, GA. and a former long time resident of the Floyd Springs Road, Armuchee, died Monday morning, December 18th, 2006 at a Rome hospital.
A native of Floyd County, Mrs. Dew was born on June 25th, 1929, the daughter of the late John H. and Lillian Chandler Hawkins. Mrs. Dew had spent her entire life in Floyd County and was a member of the Floyd Springs Baptist Church. For 20 years prior to her retirement she was associated with Mohawk Industries in Calhoun. Mrs. Dew was married onJuly 31st, 1948 to Norman H. Dew who preceded her in death on July 1st, 2005.
Survivors include 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Yvonne and Noble Agan of Armuchee and Barbara and Randall Gibson of Armuchee; 3 grandsons, Joshua and Joseph Agan and Zachary Gibson; 1 granddaughter, Rachel Gibson, 2 great-grandsons, Connor and Isaac Agan, 2 sisters, Estelle Owens and Louise White both of Armuchee. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Avaleen Hawkins Dew will be held on Thursday afternoon, December 21st, 2006 at 4 o'clock from the graveside of East View Cemetery, Rome, with the Rev. Glenn Clonts officiating with interment to follow in the family lot of East View Cemetery.
Mrs. Dew will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends on Thursday afternoon from 2 until 3:30. At other hours the family will be at the home of a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Randall Gibson, 11 Herring Road, Armuchee.
The following will serve as active pallbearers, Joshua and Joseph Agan, Zachary Gibson, Chuck Bailey, Drew Jones and L.R. Hawkins.
