Frances Byrd Trapp of Addington Drive, Rome, died Monday morning, January 12th, 2009 in Centre, Ala.
A native of Lindale, Ga., Mrs. Trapp was the daughter of the late Herschel Lee and Zaney Adell Plemones Byrd. She was a life long resident of Rome and was a member of the Glory Tabernacle Church of Rome. Frances was associated with Floyd Medical Center for several years having retired in 1998 as the supervisor of Central Services. She was married to William Thomas Trapp who preceded her in death on January 30th, 1997.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Curnow and her husband, Jim of Cedar Bluff, Alabama; 2 sons, Stanley Trapp of Rome and Steven Trapp of Cartersville, GA.; 2 grandchildren, Amy Hutchins and her husband, Rodney and Tyler Trapp and Emily Curnow, 4 great-grandchildren, Hannah Jenkins, and Rachel and Sarah Hutchins and Avery Hutchins, her twin brother, Frank Byrd of Rome; 2 sisters, Katherine Abney and her husband, W.G. of Buford, GA. and Bessie Goss and her husband, Johnny of Covington, Ga. Other family members include Norma Faye and Sherry and Patsy Hogg, and a special friend, Kathiey Toles.
A memorial service for Frances Byrd Trapp will be held on Thursday afternoon, January 15th, 2009 at 1 o'clock at the Glory Tabernacle Church on Watson Street with Mr. Leslie Lucas, Pastor Inez Garrett and Pastor Jimmy Hogan officiating. Graveside and interment services will be private in the Mt. Alto Baptist Church Cemetery. It was the request of Mrs. Trapp for there to be no receiving or visitation at the funeral home.
