Frank Wesley Kerce

Frank Wesley Kerce, age 61, of Rome, died Monday morning, May 11, 2009 at a local hospital.
A native of Floyd County, Mr. Kerce was born on September 24th, 1947, the son of Joyce Cook Kerce and the late Frank Quarles Kerce. He had spent the greater part of his life in Rome and was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Kerce was a Vietnam veteran having served in the United States Army where he was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Expert Badge. Mr. Kerce was a brick and stone mason and loved fishing and playing golf.
Survivors include his mother, Joyce Kerce of Rome, 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Carol Marie Hall of Silver Creek and Deborah and Phillip Johnson of Shannon. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Frank Wesley Kerce will be held on Friday afternoon, May 15th, 2009 at 2o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with Rev. Marvin Faile officiating. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery with Shanklin-Attaway Post #5 Honor Guard conducting military graveside rites.
Mr. Kerce will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends on Friday from 12:30p.m. until 2 o'clock.
The following will serve as active pallbearers, Travis Burkhalter, Al Bundy, John Atting, David Gaddy , Lloyd Baker and Jr. Carr.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contribution may be made to the Building Fund at Pleasant Valley South Baptist Church, 702 Pleasant Valley Road, Silver Creek, Georgia 30173.
