Gordon Jay Baker

Gordon Jay Baker, age 84, of Buchanan, GA, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2022.

Gordon was born in Lansing, Michigan on June 6, 1938. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served for over twenty years where he received several commendations. Gordon was a Combat Engineer, following his retirement from the military he went to work with the Army Corps of Engineers at Carter’s Lake where he retired after another twenty years of work. Gordon was a family man and enjoyed spending time with them every chance he got. He loved gardening, working at the farm and anything outdoors. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Carolyn Faye Baker who he loved dearly.

Gordon is survived by his son, David Baker and his wife April of Buchanan, GA and a granddaughter, Mahalley Dillman and her husband Eric of Bremen, GA.

A Private celebration of life and Interment will take place in the family cemetery in Toombs County, GA with military honors at a later date.
