Harry Lee Teague

Harry L. Teague age 81, of # 32 Sunny Heights Drive NE, Rome, passed away on Saturday evening, November 20th, 2010 at a Rome hospital.

A native of Gainesville, Georgia, Mr. Teague was born on August 1st, 1929, the son of the late Chester Arthur Teague and the late Mamie Billingsley Teague. He was a 1947 graduate of Rome Boys High School and was a veteran having served in the U. S. Marine Corps. Mr. Teague was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church, the Oostanaula Masonic Lodge #113 F&AM, the Kegg Club and the Electrical Workers Union. Prior to his retirement Mr. Teague was associated with Georgia Power Company and was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Dale and Gene Teague.

Survivors include his wife, Sondra L. Black Teague to whom he was married on October 19th, 1963; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Laura and Bo Brown of Hoschton, GA. and Valerie and Major Don Sapp of Fairfax, VA.; 2 grandchildren, Dakota and Gavin Sapp; a sister, Faye Manning of Buford, GA.; Nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Harry L. Teague will be held on Wednesday afternoon, November 24th,
2010 at 1 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Hinkley, Dr. Roger Whorton and Rev. Clyde Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens with Shanklin-Attaway Post #5 American Legion Honor Guard conducting military graveside rites.

The following will serve as active pallbearers, Michael Bennett, Bo Brown, Major Don Sapp, Ronnie Wilkerson, Jody Black and Bill Hamilton.

Mr. Teague will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends on Wednesday afternoon from 12 noon until 1 o'clock. At other hours they will be at the residence.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Friendship Baptist Church Building Fund, #2283 Calhoun Road NE, Rome, GA. 30161.
