Hazel Beatrice Branton

Hazel Self Branton, age 65, of Rome, died Monday, October 8th, 2007 at her residence.
A native of Floyd County, Mrs. Branton was born on June 17th, 1942, the daughter of the late Amos D. and Emma Viola Abney Gentry. She had spent the greater part of her life in Rome and was one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Branton was associated with Mondo Baking. Mrs. Branton was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Jackie Self in 1973, by a daughter, Regina Patterson in 2002 and 2 sisters, Frances Goss and Pat McCullough. She was married in July 1977 to J.A. Branton who preceded her in death in 2005.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Debbie Hayes of Rome, Judy Hall (Tim) of Rome and Renae Igler (Judd) of Marietta, Ga. 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren. Other survivors include Roger and Nikki Patterson. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Hazel Self Branton will be private for the family.
