Ilene Ransom Woodfin, age 59, of #123 Everett Springs Road, Calhoun, (The Rosedale Community) died Tuesday night, February 24th, 2009 at a local hospital.
A native of Floyd County, Mrs. Woodfin was born on September 3, 1949, the daughter of Mary Alice Miller Ransom and the late Alfred Morland Ransom. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Floyd Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Woodfin was a 1968 graduate of Armuchee High School and was preceded in death by a brother, Freddie Ransom.
Survivors include her husband, Dwight Thomas Woodfin to whom she was married on August 23rd, 1969, a daughter and son-in-law, Christy and Rickey Carter of Armuchee; a son, Kevin Woodfin of Cartersville, GA.; 3 grandchildren, Payton and Randon Carter and Dakota Woodfin, her mother, Mary Alice Ransom of Rome; 1 sister, Maryland Sharpe of Everett Springs; 1 brother, Doyle Ransom of Griffin, GA. Nieces and nephews also survive.
A memorial service for Mrs. Woodfin will be held on Sunday afternoon, March 1st, 2009 at 3 o'clock at the Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles Woodfin, Rev. Wendell Woodfin and Rev. Wayne Hopper officiating.
The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon at the church from 2 until 3 o'clock. At other hours they will be at the residence.
