Ina Mae Toney

June 30, 1920 — July 3, 2009

Ina Mae Richards Upshaw Toney, age 89, of Fayetteville, GA. and a former long time resident of Rome died Friday evening, July 3rd, 2009 in Fayetteville.

A native of Floyd County, Mrs. Toney was born on June 30, 1920 the daughter of the late William Raymond and Mattie Mae Williams Richards. She had spent the greater part of her life in Rome and was a member of the West Rome Christian Church. Prior to her retiring Mrs. Toney was a beautician for many years and was preceded in death by 2 sisters. Mrs. Toney was preceded by her first husband and the father of her children, C.F. Upshaw in 1977 and by her second husband, C.I. Toney in October 2008.
Survivors include a daughter, Jane Mitchell of Tampa, Fla.; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Lee and Rhonda Upshaw of Lindale and Ray and Brenda Upshaw of Douglasville, Georgia; 3 granddaughters, Meghan Tyree of Rome, Gretchen Anderson and her husband, Matt of Smyrna, Georgia and Bridgette Mitchell of Alpharetta, Georgia; 2 great-grandchildren, Mylee Anderson and Adalyn Tyree. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Toney will be held this (Monday) afternoon, July 6th, 2009 at 2:30 from the graveside of Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens with Mr. Larry Walker and the Rev. Tom McElroy officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Toney will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends this (Monday) afternoon from 1 until 2 o'clock.
