Irene Eunice Adams

Eunice Avery Adams, age 82 of # 6 Walton Way, Rome, died early Tuesday, January 29th, 2008at her residence.
A native of Floyd County, Mrs. Adams was born on October 12th, 1925, the daughter of the late Howard Dallas Avery and the late Jessie Long Avery. She had spent her entire life in Rome and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. For a number of years Mrs. Adams was associated with Discount Fabrics of Rome. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Sidney, Hershell and Tommy Avery and by 2 sisters, Edith Adams and Evelyn Avery. Mrs. Adams was married on August 2nd, 1941 to Eldon Shields Adams who preceded her in death on June 8th, 1997.
Survivors include a daughter, Sondra Adams Lumpkin, a grand-daughter, Julie Avery Shaw and her husband Vic of Rome, a great-granddaughter, Jordan Avery Shaw and a great-grandson, Ryan Adam Shaw; 4 sisters, Vesta Avery Salmon, Sue Avery Thornton and her husband, W.C., Dean Avery Beard, and Marnese Avery Pope andd her husband, Gene all of Rome. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Adams will be held Saturday morning, February 2nd, 2008, at 11 o'clock at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel with the Rev. David Thornton and the Rev. Scott Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
The following nephews will serve as active pallbearers, Lamar and Larry Avery, Alvin Robinson, Pat and Joe Salmon, Mike Reynolds, Terry Dobson and Howard Pope.
Mrs. Adams will remain at Fred Talley's where the family will receive friends this (Friday) evening from 5 until 8 o'clock. At other hours they will be at the residence.
