Jadie Lee "Pete" Brock, age 91, of the Everett Springs Community, Armuchee, died on Tuesday morning, May 21, 2013 at his residence.

A native of Armuchee, Georgia, Mr. Brock was born on July 5, 1921, the son of the late Samuel Gordon Brock and the late Ruth Mae Price Brock. He had spent the greater part of his life in Floyd County and was a World War II veteran having served in the United States Army in the European Theater and was awarded The American Campaign Medal, The European-African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with Silver Star, The Good Conduct Medal, Expert Carbine Medal and the Victory WWII Medal. Mr. Brock was of the Christian Faith and prior to his retirement he was associated with Southern Bakery in Atlanta for over 20 years. Following his retirement he enjoyed gardening, farming and raising cattle. Mr. Brock was preceded in death by his parents, his step-mother, Tennie Quinn Brock, by 1 brother and 5 sisters. Mr. Brock was married on September 19, 1947 to Doris Carolyn Eaves Brock who also preceded him in death on November 8, 2012.

Survivors include 4 sons and 3 daughters-in-law, Michael and Jackie Brock of Buford, GA., Barry Brock of Armuchee, Randy and Polly Brock of Alabaster, Ala. and Reverend Jody Brock and his wife, Tammy of Armuchee; 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren also survive as do 2 brothers, James Brock of McDonough, GA. and Robert Brock of Cohutta, GA. Nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Jadie Lee "Pete" Brock will be held on Friday afternoon, May 24, 2013 at 3 o'clock at the Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church with Dr. Wayne Hopper officiating. Interment to follow in the family lot of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church Cemetery with Shanklin-Attaway Post #5 American Legion Honor Guard conducting military graveside rites.

The family will receive friends at the church on Friday afternoon, May 24, 2013 from 1:30 until 3 o'clock. At other hours they will be at the residence.

Mr. Brock's sons and grandsons will serve as active pallbearers. Johnny Holbert will serve as honorary pallbearer.
