James Ronald Dodd

James Ronald "Ronnie" Dodd, age 59, of #8320 New Calhoun Road, Adairsville (the Scottsville Community) passed away Thursday afternoon, September 15th, 2011 at the residence.

A native of Floyd County, Ronnie was born on August 1st, 1952, the son of the late Doyal A. and Mary Ellen Bryant Dodd. He had spent the great part of his life in Floyd County and attended East Rome High School. Ronnie was a Vietnam veteran having served in the United States Army and was a member of the Mt. Calvary Free Will Baptist Church. Ronnie was a construction worker. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ricky Dodd.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Smith Dodd, to whom he was married on February 16th, 1990; 1 son, James Henry Dodd of Dallas, GA.; 2 daughters, Lacey Ann Dodd and Courtney Sky Dodd both of Scottsville; 2 grandsons, Nathanial "Nate" Feagin and Rafe "R.J." Dodd; a sister, Venessa Dodd of Rome; 3 brothers, Bobby Dodd of Lindale, Randy Dodd of Texas and Howard Dodd of Colorado. Nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for James Ronald "Ronnie" Dodd will be held on Tuesday morning, September 20th, 2011 at 11 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with the Rev. Jackie Culberson, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow at 2:30 pm at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA with full military honors.

The following will serve as active pallbearers, Jacob Feagin, Rhonda Johnson, David Bell, Aaron Smith, Wayne Smith and Troy Buffington.

Ronnie will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6 until 8 o'clock. At other hours the family will be at the residence.
