James William Ledbetter

August 6, 1930 — October 13, 2016

Jack Ledbetter, age 86, of Rome, passed away on Oct. 13, 2016. Mr. Ledbetter worked for many years at Georgia Kraft and also at J-Supply. Jack was a founding member of the Kraftsman Club and was a builder of the golf course at the Kraftsman Club. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. Mr. Ledbetter was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp. He was also a pilot and owned his own plane. Jack loved to go to Garden Lakes and feed the ducks with his family. He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and another love was going to the airport and watching the planes. Jack was preceded in death by his loving wife Jane "Polly" Ledbetter; parents, Sybil and Clifford McCain; sister, Ruth Langley and half-brother Harold (Doris) McCain.

Survivors are four sons, Steve (Mindy) Ledbetter, Larry Ledbetter, Alan (LaTrelle) Ledbetter, Jeff (Susan) Ledbetter; nine grandchildren, Jenny (Michael) Peppers, Stevie (Brooke) Ledbetter, Jon Ledbetter, Michael Ledbetter, Chuck (Brie) Ledbetter, Lawson (Tiffany) Ledbetter, Brittany Ledbetter, Mary Allison (Randy) Anderson, Jason (Chere) Ledbetter and eleven great grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016 from Noon until 2:00 pm at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 2:00pm at the funeral home and burial will follow at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be the grandsons, Stevie Ledbetter, Jon Ledbetter, Jason Ledbetter, Lawson Ledbetter, Chuck Ledbetter and Desmond Bannister.
