Jeanette Touchstone Kinsey

March 24, 1923 — April 21, 2010

Jeanette Touchstone Kinsey, age 87, of the Floyd Springs Road, Armuchee, died early Wednesday morning, April 21st, 2010 at a local hospital.

A native of Gadsden, Alabama, Mrs. Kinsey was born on March 24th, 1923, the daughter of the late Arthur Lee Touchstone and the late Mary Frances Ray Touchstone. She was a graduate of Armuchee High School and was a member of the Floyd Springs Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Sr. Ladies Sunday School Class. Mrs. Kinsey was a charter member of the Harriet Gold D.A.R. Mrs. Kinsey served as manager Allen's 5 & 10 in Rome, and was associated with Allen's Variety in Calhoun and prior to her retirement was associated with Southern Wholesale of Rome for several years. Mrs. Kinsey was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Doris Moore and Ruth Duke and by 5 brothers, Arthur, Albert, Ray, Marvin and Melvin Touchstone. She was married on September 9th, 1940 to Jess W. Kinsey who preceded her in death in 2000.

Survivors include 1 son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Sue Kinsey of Armuchee; 3 granddaughters and their husbands, Allison and Gene Long of Ellijay, GA., Stacy and Blake Lambert of Armuchee and Andrea and Mike Horn of Terrell, Texas; 7 great-grandchildren, Doyal, Maggie, Matthew and Dorothy Lambert, Tyler, Carson and Abby Horn. A sister, Marguerite Brock of Armuchee also survive as do nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Jeanette Touchstone Kinsey will be held on Saturday afternoon, April 24th, 2010 at 2 o'clock at the Floyd Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Daniel Hyde officiating with interment to follow in the family lot of the Floyd Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Kinsey will lie-in-state at the church on Saturday from 1 until 2 o'clock.

The following will serve as active pallbearers, Bill Duke, Steve Duke, Greg Brock, Doyal Lambert, Gene Long and Tony Touchstone. The following will serve as honorary pallbearers, Matthew Lambert, Tyler and Carson Horn, David Duke and Earl Kinsey.

Mrs. Kinsey will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends this (Friday) evening from 6 until 8 o'clock. At other hours they will be at the residence.
