Jewell Elizabeth Davis

Mrs. Jewell Haralson Davis, age 83, of Cartersville, Georgia, and a former long time resident of Elliott Drive, Rome, died on Saturday evening, July 18th, 2009 in Cartersville.
A native of Fyffe, Alabama, and raised in Gordon County, Georgia, Mrs. Davis was born on September 19th, 1925, the daughter of the late William G. and Myrtle Davidson Haralson. Mrs. Davis had been a resident of Cartersville for the past 5 years. She was a charter member of the Garden Lakes Baptist Church, a member of the Finley Sunday School Class where she served as secretary of the Finley Sunday School Class for 30 years. Mrs. Davis was a member of the Constellation Chapter, Order of the Eastern Stars. For 31 years Mrs. Davis was associated with Esserman's of Rome and for 8 years associated with Martin's of Rome.
Survivors include her husband, John H. Davis to whom she was married on November 9th, 1945; a daughter and son-in-law, Glenda and Ronnie Evans of White, GA.; 2 grandchildren, Amy Pinnow and her husband, Nick of Canton, GA. and Doug Evans and his wife, Stacey of Dallas, GA.; 5 great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Jewell Haralson Davis will be held on Tuesday afternoon, July 21st, 2009 at 2 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert M. Skelton officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Davis will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends this (Monday) evening from 6 until 9 o'clock. At other hours they will be at the residence, 17 Independence Way, Cartersville, Georgia.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contribution may be made to Garden Lakes Baptist Church Building Fund, 2200 Redmond Circle NW, Rome, Georgia 30165.
Active pallbearers include, Nick Pinnow, Doug Evans, Dennis Graham, Jerry Gravitt, Lamar Squires and Larry Evans. Members of the Jake Puryear Detachment #1020 of the Marine Corps League of Rome will serve as honorary pallbearers.
