Joann Drennon

March 20, 1930 — April 23, 2009

JoAnn Chambers Drennon, age 79, of Rome, died Thursday evening, April 23rd, 2009 at a local hospital.
A native of Floyd County, Mrs. Drennon was born on March 20th, 1930 the daughter of the late Dewey A. and Janie Johnson Chambers. She had spent the greater part of her life in Rome and was a member of the North Broad Baptist Church. She had a beautiful voice and shared her talents with the youth choirs at Smyrna First Baptist Church and North Broad Baptist Church. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Drennon was associated with A. L. Williams in Atlanta as an Administrative Assistant. We will all miss JoAnn's presence in our lives but she will live forever in our hearts. She was our mother, mother-in-law, sister, grandmother (Tanma) and friend and we will treasure the times we spent together for the rest of our lives.
Survivors include James and Kathy Drennon of Rome, Scott and June Drennon of Ringgold, John Drennon of Shannon, Neal Drennon of Spokane, WA and Nancy and Andy Williams of Rome. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Joy Corbin of Rome.
A memorial service for JoAnn Chambers Drennon will be held on Monday evening, April 27th, 2009 at 6 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with the Rev. Hugh C. Peacock, Jr. officiating.
The family will receive friends on Monday, from 4:00 until 6 o'clock at the funeral home.
In celebration of JoAnn's love for animals and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Rome Floyd Humane Society, 518 Broad Street, Rome Georgia 30165.
