Mr. John Henry Winkle

Mr. John Henry Winkle age 61, of Rome, GA, passed away on Friday, September 28, 2018, surrounded by his family.

Mr. Winkle was born in Rome, GA, October 22, 1956, the son of Annie Dale Ray Winkle and the late Robert Wicker "Dub" Winkle, Sr. He attended Shannon Church of God and prior Northwood Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Winkle worked many years at Galey & Lord and Toyo Tire before his illness. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, and his earlier years radio controlled airplanes. In addition to his father, Mr. Winkle was preceded in death by a brother, Jeffery Winkle.

In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, Kathy Shropshire Winkle; three daughters, Crystal (Paul) Hines, Melissa (Dale) Crowe, and Becky (Erik) Ramey; nine grandchildren, Adriana (Jacob) Smith, Eli Hines, Noah Hines, Valerie Crowe, Chloe Crowe, Emma Ramey, Triston Ramey, Madison Ramey, and Kendall Ramey; and three brothers, Robert (Sandy) Winkle, James Winkle, and Jerome (Mary Lou) Winkle. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside and interment services will be held Monday, October 1, 2018, at 2:30 P.M., Floyd Memory Gardens with Rev. William Ford and Rev. Cary Hall officiating.

Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Monday from noon until 2:00 P.M. at Salmon Funeral Home.
