Kermit Lee Wright

Kermit Lee Wright, age 87, of #29 Fernwood Way, NE, Rome, died early Friday morning, July 20th, 2007 at his residence.
A native of Gilmer County, Georgia, Mr. Wright was born on June 15th, 1920, the son of the late Cicero and Mollie Wright. He had been a resident of Rome since 1967 moving here from Pontiac, Mich. Mr. Wright was a World War II veteran having served in the United States Army, was a retired truck driver and was a member of the Shanklin-Attaway Post #5 American Legion. He was married on October 19th, 1946 to Toni Hyatt Wright who preceded him in death on October 5th, 2000.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Suzanne Weir of Boulder, Colorado, Mary Lynn Price of Bevertion, Mich. 2 and Karen Brown of Rome; 2 sons, Gary Hyatt of Rochester, NY and Johnny LeRoy Wright of Temple, GA. 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Wright will be held on Monday afternoon, July 23rd, 2007, at 2 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with Chaplain Dan Hogan officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot of Floyd Memory Gardens with Shanklin-Attaway Post #5 American Legion Honor Guard conducting military graveside rites.
Grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as active and honorary pallbearers.
Mr. Wright will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends this (Sunday) evening from 6 until 9 o'clock. At other hours they will be at the residence.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to United Hospice, 315 West 10th Street, Rome, Georgia 30165.
