James Clyde "Jimmy" Kindred, Jr. age 53 of # 215 Sam Harris Road NE, Rome died Friday afternoon, October 9th, 2009 at a local hospital following a 5 year battle with colorectal cancer.
Jimmy was born in Thomasville, GA. on May 14th, 1956, the son of James Clyde Kindred, Sr. and Burnadeen Lawrence Kindred of Metcalf, GA. He had been a residence of Rome since 1979 moving here from Metcalf and was a member of the Metcalf United Methodist Church. Prior to his illness Jimmy was employed with Defender Services at Spring Industries in Calhoun, GA. Jimmy loved to tinker with electronics and was an avid football fan, especially the Atlanta Falcons. He was preceded in death by grandparents James Andrew and Hazel Runion Kindred and William W. and Eileen Lawrence.
Surving in addition to his parents are his wife, Marie Kindred to whom he was married on August 1st, 1982; 2 sons, Jesse Kindred and Reuben Kindred both of Rome; a sister, Donna Kindred of Metcalf; a brother Lance Kindred (Jodie) of Valdosta, GA. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and very special cousins also survive.
A memorial service for James Clyde "Jimmy" Kindred, Jr. will be held on Tuesday evening, October 13th, 2009 at 6 o'clock at Mizpah United Methodist Church with Rev. Roger Canuel officiating.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday at the church from 5 until 6 o'clock. At other hours they will be at the residence.
In lieu of followers the family respectfully request memorial contribution be made to the National Colorectal Research Alliance or a charity of your choice.
