Lewis Virgle Vaughn, Jr

Lewis Virgle Vaughn, Jr., age 65, of Kennesaw, GA. and a former Roman, died Thursday evening, November 30th, 2006 in Douglasville, Ga.
A native of Floyd County, Mr. Vaughn was born on October 6th, 1941, the son of the late Lewis Virgle Vaughn, Sr. and the late Mattie Jenkins Vaughn. For many years he had resided in Lawrenceville and Atlanta, GA. and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Vaughn was a Vietnam Veteran having served in the United States Army and was associated with J.M. Tull Metals of Atlanta for 33 years. Mr. Vaughn was married on August 29th, 1963 to Lois Dell Turner Vaughn who preceded him in death on March 19th, 2004.
Survivors include 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Janice Vaughn of Kennesaw, GA. and Mike and Pat Vaughn of Crestview, Fla.; a sister and brother-in-law, Nellie and Danny Dyer of Douglasville, GA.; 4 step-sons, Jackie and Winford Prather both of Rome, Lamar Prather of Spartanburg, S.C., and Edward Prather of Lake Lanier, GA.;. Step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Vaughn will be held on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home in Rome with the Rev. Butch Cole officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home this (Sunday) afternoon from 3 o'clock until 6 o'clock. At other hours they will be at their respective homes.
