Mrs. Lottie Mae Reece, beloved mother and grandmother, age 95 of #505 North Fifth Avenue, Rome, a former residence of the Glenwood Community , died Tuesday night, March 16th, 2010 at Fifth Avenue Health Care.
A native of Floyd County, Mrs. Reece was born on December 30th, 1914, the daughter of the late William Jessie Evans and the late Donia Teague Evans. She was a life long resident of Floyd County, a homemaker and a life long member of the New Hope Baptist Church at Rosedale. Mrs. Reece was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Reece Barnett in August 1999. Mrs. Reece was married to Daniel Frank Reece for 73 years until his death in May 2002. They were married on October 25th, 1931.
Survivors include a daughter, Frankie Johnston of Rossville, GA; 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lottie Mae Reece will be held on Friday afternoon, March 19th, 2010 at 2 o'clock from the graveside of the Pleasant Valley North Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Mark Butler, Pastor of the New Hope Baptist Church at Rosedale will officiate. Family members will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the family lot at Pleasant Valley North Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Reece will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends this (Thursday) evening from 6 until 8 o'clock. At other hours they will be at their respective homes.
