Louise E. Hodo, age 95, of Rome passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at her residence.

A native of Floyd County, Mrs. Hodo was born on April 12, 1918, the daughter of the late Edward Stewart and the late Lillian Heist Cone. She had spent the great part of her life in Floyd County and attended Riverside Baptist Church. For a period of time she was associated with Rome Manufacturer of Rome and she loved playing Bingo. Mrs. Hodo was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Edna Canon and Irene Parker. Mrs. Hodo was married in 1955 to William Hodo who preceded her in death in 1972.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Penny and James "Jim" Shiflett of Rome; 6 grandchildren, James "Jim" Shiflett, Jr., Elizabeth Devlin (Bill), Stacy Lyons (Andy), Tracy Weldon (Sam), Jodi Payne (Jason) and Marsha Barnes (Jim). 13 great-grandchildren also survive as do several nieces and nephews.

Graveside and interment services for Louise E. Hodo will be held this (Monday) afternoon, December 30, 2013 at 2 o'clock at Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens with Reverend Randy Lambert officiating with interment to follow in the family lot.

Jim Shiflett, Jr., Bill Devlin, Andy Lyons, Sam Weldon, Jason Payne, Jim Barnes and Tony Cantrell will serve as active pallbearers.
