Lucille "Lucy" Miller Wheeler, age 100, of #511 W. 10th Street, Rome, Georgia, a former resident of Macon, Georgia died Tuesday evening, October 16th, 2007 at a Rome Georgia hospital.
A native of Floyd County, Georgia Mrs. Wheeler was born on March 13th, 1907, the daughter of the late Levi G. and Fannie Everett Miller. Mrs. Wheeler spent the earlier years of her life in Floyd County having returned to Rome in 1997 moving here for Macon. For many years Mrs. Wheeler was associated with her late husband in the pharmacy profession. Mrs. Wheeler was preceded in death by 3 sisters Varnie Holsonback, Idell Barton and Charlotte Holsonback and by 1 brother, Quinton Miller. Mrs. Wheeler was married on August 22nd, 1934 to Clarence W. Wheeler who preceded her in death on July 6th, 1982.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law, Mary Alice Nutt of Ft. Valley, Georgia.
Graveside and interment service for Mrs. Wheeler will be held on Friday afternoon, October 19th, 2007 at 2 o'clock at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery, Macon, Georgia with Dr. Frank Terry officiating. Interment will follow in the Macon Memorial Park Cemetery, Macon, Georgia.
Mrs. Wheeler will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel Funeral Home in Rome, Georgia where the family will receive friends this (Thursday) evening from 6 until 8 o'clock. At other hours they will be at their respective homes.
