Lucy E. Hicks Locklear

Lucy E. Hicks Locklear, age 93, of #12 Chateau Drive, Rome, died Thursday afternoon, November 6th, 2008 at Winthrop Manor of Rome.
A native of Polk County, Georgia, Mrs. Locklear was born on May 17th, 1915, the daughter of the late Samuel and Sally Carroll Odom. She had spent the greater part of her life in Rome, was a homemaker and was of the Baptist Faith. Mrs. Locklear was preceded in death by her first husband, Claude Hicks in 1972 and her second husband, Thomas Franklin Locklear, Sr. in 1992.
Survivors include several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Locklear will be Sunday afternoon, November 9th, 2008 at 1 o'clockfrom the graveside of Oakland Cemetery in Rome with the Rev. Jody Brock officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot of Oakland Cemetery.
Mrs. Locklear will lie-in-state at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel Funeral Home until the funeral hour.
