Millie Johnston Rush

Mrs. Millie Johnston Rush, age 82, of Canton, GA, formerly of Rome, GA, passed away on Saturday morning, January 27, 2018.

A native of Rome and Floyd County, Millie was born on September 23, 1935, daughter of the late Miles Alexander Johnston and Grace Wood Johnston. She was a graduate of Rome High School. Millie, along with her late husband, Jackie Rush, was owner and operator of Valley View Nursing Home for a number of years and she served as activities director there. She loved animals, especially dogs, and was always up for a trip to the beach.

Millie is survived by one daughter, Terri Horsley, of Canton; three sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Angela Rush of Marietta, GA, David and Tina Rush of Rome, and Woody and Stephanie Rush of Marianna, FL; son-in-law, Billy E. Horsley, Jr. Five grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive.

A Celebration of life will be held on Tuesday evening, January 30, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. in the Salmon Funeral Home with Pastor Don Munn officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until time for the service.
