Nick Johannes Botha

Mr. Nicolaas ‘Nick’ Johannes Botha, age 73, of Rome, GA, passed away peacefully at a local healthcare facility on Sunday, November 27, 2022.

Nick was born on April 5, 1949, in Boksburg, South Africa. He was the son of the late Nelis and Anna Vermeulen Botha. In South Africa Nick worked in the Pharmaceutical profession and owned several businesses thereafter. Once arriving in the United States in 1996, he started a 30 year career as a Cost Estimator in the flooring industry where he eventually met his work family at Inside Edge.

Nick was a man who loved to live life to the fullest. He was hardworking and strived to take care of his family first and foremost. He loved them dearly and his two grandchildren were his world. When he wasn’t in the kitchen cooking and baking, he was finding things to fix around the house. Nick absolutely loved traveling and was always planning his next adventures with his beloved wife. He will certainly be missed by all as husband, father, brother, oupa, and friend.

Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years; Trudy Botha of Rome, GA; son, Rudi Botha and his wife Zenobia of Dallas, GA; two grandchildren: Xander Botha and Avery Botha of Dallas, GA; sister, Francina Underhill of South Africa. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Nick was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Andy Underhill.

A Celebration of Life will take place Sunday, December 4th, 2022 at 2:30 PM at the Johnson Ferry Baptist Church; 955 Johnson Ferry Road, Marietta, GA 30068. Please park at the North Portico at the North Entrance Parking: Follow signs for North Portico. A reception will follow the service.
