Mrs. Beatrice Rose Martin, age 84, of #419 Robinhood Road, Rome, (Sherwood Forest Community) died early Wednesday morning, August 29th, 2007 at a local hospital.
A native of Floyd County, Mrs. Martin was born on March 5th, 1923, the daughter of the late Benjamin William Rose and the late Mollie Maybell Hazelwood Rose. She had spent her entire life in Floyd County and was a member of the Dry Creek Baptist Church in Bartow County. Mrs. Martin was associated with Celanese for a number of years. Mrs. Martin was married on June 15th, 1940 to Charlie L. Martin who preceded her in death on February 25th, 1994.
Survivors include 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Marvin Lingerfelt and Nancy and Ray Perry all of Rome; 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Charles and Gail Martin and Randy Martin all of Rome; 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren also survive, 1 brother, J.C. Rose of Shannon. Special friends, Sherry Puryear and Susan Davis. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Beatrice Rose Martin will be held on Friday afternoon, August 31st, 2007 at 2 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Studdard and the Rev. Robert Vines officiating with interment to follow in the family lot of Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
Grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as active pallbearers.
Mrs. Martin will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends this (Thursday) evening from 7 until 9 o'clock. At other hours they will be at the residence.
