Patsy Jo Gentry

Patsy Jo Abney Gentry, age 76, of #22 Beverly Drive, West Rome, passed away Monday morning, June 27th, 2011 at the residence.

A native of Rome, Mrs. Gentry was born on November 13th, 1934, the daughter of the late Clifton and Beatrice Tatum Abney. She had spent the greater part of her life in Rome and was a 1952 graduate of Taylorsville High School. Mrs. Gentry was one of Jehovah's Witnesses and was a member of the Coosa Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. For a period of time Mrs. Gentry was associated with Sam's Club of Rome as a demonstrator. Mrs. Gentry was preceded in death by a daughter Diane Gentry in 1994 and by a son Elston Lee "Chuck" Gentry, Jr. in 2010.

Survivors include her husband, Elston Lee Gentry, Sr. to whom he was married on December 15th, 1951; a son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Darlene Gentry of Rome; a daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Donny Key of Canton, Georgia; 3 grandchildren, Andy Key of Canton, GA., Taylor Atkinson and Randy Gentry both of Rome. 1 great-grandson, Everett Key of Canton and 1 great-granddaughter, Avery Mae Atkinson.

Funeral services for Patsy Jo Abney Gentry will be held this (Wednesday) evening, June 29th, 2011 at 7 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with her son-in-law, Mr. Donny Key officiating.

Mrs. Gentry will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends today (Wednesday) from 4 until 7 o'clock. Following the funeral services the family will continue to greet friends at the funeral home. At other hours they will be at the residence.
