Robert Scott Gaylor, age 50, of Rome, passed away on Friday, December 30th, 2011 in Chattooga County, Georgia.

A native of Chattooga County, Georgia, Scott was born on August 29th, 1961, the son of the late Robert L. "Bob" Gaylor and the late Frances Yarbrough Gaylor. Scott was 1979 graduate of Coosa High School and attended Shorter College. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Rome. Scott served with the Georgia State Patrol for 13 years, for a period of time he served as a Rome Probation Adult officer and prior to his death was associated with Aramark at Berry College.

Survivors include his wife, Crystal Stephens Gaylor to whom he was married on May 26th, 1984; 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Kristen Gaylor Scarber and her husband, Andrew of Rome and Shannen Gaylor of Rome; 2 sons, Stephen and Tucker Gaylor both of Rome; 2 aunts, Brenda Ward and Carolyn Morrow; a great-uncle, Raymond Gaylor. Several cousins also survive.

A memorial service for Robert Scott Gaylor was held on Monday afternoon, January 2nd, 2012 at 1 o'clock at Calvary Baptist Church. Dr. Steve Andrews officiated.

Private graveside services for the family and invited friends will be held Friday, January 6th, 2012 at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with Dr. Gary Graves officiating.

The following will serve as active pallbearers, Kenneth Guice, Mark Chapman, Chris Whittle, Chris Bragg, Tommy Cobb, Junior Navarro, Mike Kirksey, Donny Spellman, David Seabolt and Gary Vaughn.
