Rosa Lee Thacker

Mrs. Rosa Lee Thacker, age 97, of Rome, GA, passed away Tuesday evening, November 30, 2021, in a local nursing home.

Mrs. Thacker was born in Anderson, SC, on January 16, 1924, daughter of the late John Dial Selman and Ollie Mae Chapman Selman. She had been a resident of Rome and Floyd County for most of her life and was of the Baptist faith. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Thacker worked with Burlington Industries for over 50 years. She loved working in her yard and growing flowers. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Thacker was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Thacker, in March of 2007. Five brothers, Guyton Dial Selman, Jesse James Selman, William Hicks Selman, John Oliver Selman and Rufus Charles Selman also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Thacker is survived by two brothers, Paul Allen Selman and Cecil Clyde Selman. A host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in Salmon Funeral Home with Chaplain Marvin Richardson officiating. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery.

Mrs. Thacker’s family will receive friends at Salmon Funeral Home Friday from 1:00 until 1:30 p.m.
