Ruby Pauline Dew

Ruby Pauline Touchstone Dew, age 82, of #2771 Floyd Springs Road, Armuchee, Georgia, passed away early Saturday morning, October 22nd, 2011 at a Rome hospital.

A native of Floyd County, Mrs. Dew was born on May 15th, 1929, the daughter of the late Grady Jett Touchstone and the late Olyra Martin Touchstone. She had spent the greater part of her life in Floyd County and attended Old Armuchee High School. Mrs. Dew was a member of the Floyd Springs Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Adult 4 Sunday School Class and the Jolly 60's. Mrs. Dew had been associated with Floyd Medical Center for 12 years as a Unit Secretary. Mrs. Dew was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Evelyn Duke and Ezma Aycock.

Mrs. Dew is survived by her husband, Albert Forrest Dew to whom she was married in 1947; 3 sons, Danny Dew and his wife Janice, Richard Dew and his wife, Lindy and Dwayne Dew all of Armuchee; 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren also survive as do 2 sisters, Marcelle Grigsby of Armuchee and Mary Helen Rogers of Tampa, Florida; a brother, Raymond Touchstone of Summerville, Georgia. Nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Dew will be held on Wednesday afternoon, October 26th, 2011 at 3 o'clock at the Floyd Springs Baptist Church with her grandson-in-law, Chaplain Joshua Payne, Captain, U.S. Air Force and the Rev. Dan Hyde officiating with interment to follow in the family lot of the Floyd Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Dew will lie-in-state at the church on Wednesday afternoon from 2 until 3 o'clock.

Grandsons, Zach, Jett and Justin Dew and Mrs. Dew's nephews will serve as active pallbearers.

Mrs. Dew will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends this (Tuesday) evening beginning at 5 o'clock. At other hours they will be at the residence on Floyd Springs Road.
