Mrs. Susan Duvall Williams, age 77, of #75 Acorn Road, SE, Rome died Sunday morning, January 11th, 2009 at a local hospital.
A native of Floyd County, Mrs. Williams was born on November 19th, 1931, the daughter of the late Ben T. and Ida Mae Duvall. Mrs. Williams had spent her entire life in Floyd County and was of the Baptist Faith. For a period of time, Mrs. Williams was associated with Integrated Products and was a homemaker. Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Marsha Ann Hammitt in June 2006, by 2 sisters, Florine Hibberts and Mary Blivens and by 2 brothers, Bennie and Johnny Duvall.
Survivors include her husband, Berry Nathan Williams to whom she was married on February 2nd, 1965, a daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Joe Diprima of Rome; 3 sons Stanley L. Hammitt and Stephen Kenneth Johnson both of Rome and Kelly L. Williams and his wife, Stephanie of Senoia, GA.; 9 grandchildren, Lora Wynn, Julie and Kara Hammitt, Tonya Conway, Michael Diprima, Matthew and Paige Johnson, Taylor and Grant Williams, 1 great-granddaughter, Camile Conway, a sister, Barbara Dean of Rome; a brother, Tracy Duvall of Rome. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Susan Duvall Williams will be held this (Tuesday) afternoon, January 13th, 2009 at 3 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with Mr. Timmy Blevins and the Rev. Mark Underwood officiating with interment to follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Williams will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family received friends on Monday evening from 6 until 8 o'clock. At other hours they will be at the residence.
The following will serve as active pallbearers, Danny and Jeff Rogers, Jimmy Ford, Wesley Conway, Michael Hibberts and Matthew Johnson.
