William Melvin Kinsey

William Melvin Kinsey, age 71, of #499 McGrady Road, NE, Rome, died Wednesday evening, October 3rd, 2007 at a local hospital.
A native of Floyd County, Mr. Kinsey was born on July 25th, 1936, the son of the late Seaborn W. and Ruby Mary Brown Kinsey. He had spent the greater part of his life in Floyd County and was of the Methodist faith. Mr. Kinsey was a veteran having served in the United States Army. For many years Mr. Kinsey severed in the construction business and was a Floyd County farmer. Mr. Kinsey was a member and past master (twice) of the Floyd Springs Masonic Lodge #167 F&AM, and was a member of the Low 12 Club. Mr. Kinsey was preceded in death by 1 sister, Martha Bickers and by 3 brothers, Talmadge, Donald and Edward Kinsey.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Jean Gravitt Kinsey to whom he was married on November 13th, 1956, 1 son, Keith Kinsey of Rome; 3 sisters and brothers-in-law, Frances Freeman, (Jesse), Midge Watford (Jerry) and Shirley Johnston (Don) all of Rome; 1 brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Diane Kinsey of Rome. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for William Melvin Kinsey will be held on Saturday afternoon, October 6th, 2007 at 2 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with the Rev. Edward E. Holsomback officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot of Floyd Memory Gardens with members of Shanklin-Attaway Post #5 American Legion presenting the American Flag to the family and Floyd Springs Masonic Lodge #167 F&AM conducting Masonic graveside rites.
Members of the Floyd Springs Masonic Lodge #167 F&AM are requested to serve as active and honorary pallbearers. Active and honorary pallbearers are requested to meet at the funeral home on Saturday by 1:30 p.m.
There will be a called communication of Floyd Springs Masonic Lodge #167 F&AM on Saturday morning at 11:30 at the lodge for the purpose of attending funeral services for William Melvin Kinsey.
Mr. Kinsey will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends this (Friday) evening from 6 until 8 o'clock. At other hours they will be at the residence.
